About Me

I am currently a doctoral student at the University of Wisconsin Madison in the department of Curriculum and Instruction with a targeted focus on digital media production. My research interests include youth digital production processes, digital storytelling, and critique practices. I am particularly interested in the organic collaborative composition processes youth engage in while creating digital media. My research seeks to determine where youth pull from, what language they use, and why they compose collaboratively and engage in critique practices when they are not being instructed to do so.

Before graduate school, I taught high school English in Virginia and Alaska. After receiving my M.A. in English, I joined the English Department and taught freshman composition at the University of Alaska Anchorage.
